Sapporo Clock Tower

This building was designed and built in 1878 (Meiji 11) as the martial hall of Sapporo Agricultural School, now known as Hokkaido University, by the first vice-principal, Doctor Clark. This building is where the students at the time receive millitary training and physical education. During entrance and graduation season it is used as the ceremonial hall.
