Hi, I’m Ally, a Japanese women who live in Sapporo.
Sapporo has a wide variety of delicious foods, including sushi, soup curry, ramen, and so on, but there are also lots of trendy cafes where you can grab breakfast or take a break during your trip.
In this column, I’ll introduce you to 7 stylish cafes in Sapporo that you’ll want to visit during your travels.

This is a new cafe that opened in 2023 in the heart of Sapporo, on the 1st block of Tanukikoji Ave. It’s easily accessible from Susukino and Odori.
The interior is stylish with a calm atmosphere and it’s perfect for having breakfast during your travels as they serve morning specials from 8 a.m.
They also offer snacks like toast and cookies.
The staff is friendly and provides energetic service, brightening up your morning.
This is a long-established coffee shop located in the central area of Sapporo. Just a 5-minute walk from Susukino Station, they open from 8 a.m.
They offer a wide variety of rare beans from around the world, all roasted in-house, satisfying even the most selective coffee lovers.
The interior has a classical and calm atmosphere, and they also provide an English menu, making it convenient for foreigners.
Their egg sandwich, made with plenty of eggs in a toast sandwich, was so delicious.

It has a spacious interior with a shop selling fashion, interior goods, and various items.
The cafe has a stylish atmosphere and offers free Wi-Fi, so you can relax and unwind.
Their galettes are famous for their taste and delicious appearance.
If you want to try various cakes, I recommend the Sweets Plate. The cheesecake was delicious.
It’s a well-established café founded in 1996, located in Maruyama which is well-known as a fashionable town.
This is the first shop of MORIHICO, which has several locations in Hokkaido.
It has a very calm atmosphere and is a stylish establishment overflowing with a retro feel renovated from an old house.
We recommend enjoying the fragrant coffee and soft cakes together.
Since it doesn’t look like a cafe outside, it may be a little difficult to find.
It can get crowded on weekends, so there may be a wait, but it’s worth a visit once.
A cute cafe with an adorable exterior, located in Odori. It’s a popular cafe among young Japanese people.
Inside, you’ll see many young people chatting over coffee. But if you raise your voice too loudly, you might get the cold shoulder.
This cafe is perfect for those who want to relax in a quiet atmosphere and unwind.
I recommend trying the Lemon Cheesecake with its refreshing lemon scent.
A cafe nestled in the peaceful residential area of Moiwa. They offer a wide variety of cakes, as well as seasonal menus that match the season of the year.
Both the cakes and the coffee are delicious, and the view overlooking Sapporo from Moiwa is fantastic.
The attentive service of the staff makes the serene atmosphere better.
As it’s quite popular, it’s highly recommended to make a reservation via their website.
A stylish and cozy cafe located in the Jozankei Onsen area. In addition to coffee, you can also enjoy craft beer and sandwiches made with bread from local bakeries.
Besides the cafe, there is also a store that sells various items like coffee cups.
Takeout is also available, so you can enjoy the coffee while admiring the scenery of Jozankei.
